SATURDAY AT SUBARU SUPERSTORE OF CHANDLER

Despite the relentless rain, Saturday was a great day for Subaru tuning enthusiasts. Plenty of great food, good people and fun had by all. We enjoyed hanging with Ali Afshar and his team, along with Miss Hot Import Nights and Hooters Calendar Cover Girl- Stephanie Belknap.

Hats off to the Subaru Superstore of Chandler for bringing like-minded Subie enthusiasts together for a fun filled day!

DYNO-COMP TUNED MIATA TAKES IT ALL THE WAY

Dyno-Comp Tuned Spec Miata takes it all the way to 2009 National Championship SCCA Run-Offs at Elkhart Lake Wisconsin.

When that last 1-HP makes all the difference in the world within the evenly matched SCCA Spec Miata class, (designated SM), driver Steve Powers depends upon Dyno-Comp's tuning expertise to gain that vital edge. Representing the 2009 SCCA SOPAC Division as champion in SM (consisting of Arizona, Southern CA. and Nevada) Steve finished 11th out of 39 vehicles at the 2009 Runoff's held at the Road America facility in Elkhart Lake, WI. this past September, his first time competing at Road America.

His 11th place finish came from a 16th place qualifying position, requiring him to pickup five hard fought positions in this extremely competitive class at an outstanding and challenging track where HP really counts. In the 2009 Spec Miata National Point standings, Steve finished 12th out of more than 220 competitors overall.

Best luck to Steve in the 2010 racing season!

End-All, Be-All of C63 AMG headers

After months of Computer-aided design (CAD) and computer flow dynamic modeling, the Dyno-Comp/MBH C63 AMG Long-Tube header is now available to the public! This C63 AMG header utilizes the same materials and renowned build quality of our famous Dyno-Comp/MBH AMG-55 header. We tested this header on a C63 AMG with stock software and secondary cat delete, and realized gains of 60+ HP. Then Dyno-Comp added RENNtech’s Stage-3 C63 software in conjunction with the Dyno-Comp long tube headers and saw an additional 40-50 HP.

Pretty simple math: Get a 120-130 HP gain on your C63 AMG with Secondary cat delete, RENNtech Stage-3 Software, and Dyno-Comp/MBH long tube headers!!!

This new Dyno-Comp/MBH C63 AMG header has CRUSHED all competitor headers….and literally thousands of dollars less!!!

Features:

• 2.0” Primary pipe design. (all other competitor headers only use 1-7/8”)
• “True” sequential firing order design. This results in cylinder “scavenging” which improves engine efficiency by utilizing the velocity of each exhaust stroke in order to draw fresh air into each cylinder ready for the next combustion cycle.
• “Try-Y” design. Specifically for the normally aspirated 63-AMG engine, this “Try-Y” header design further optimizes scavenging effect which dramatically increases top end power while optimizing low to mid range torque.
• One piece “mono-flange” design ensures a positive exhaust manifold seal. (other competitor headers relief cut the flash resulting in warped flanges and poor seal.)
• 304 stainless steel 2.0” primary header pipes.
• 321 stainless flanges
• TIG welded and built by hand by our master fabricator. This is the same craftsmanship and quality of materials that goes into INDY car headers made by the same hands which make the Dyno-Comp C63 and AMG-55 headers.

SUBIE SNO DRIFTIN

Subaru Rally Team USA member Travis Pastrana and co-driver Christian Edstrom have done it again by taking first place overall in the opening event for 2010 of Rally America, the Sno*Drift Rally in Atlanta, Michigan. The course is a full-on battle that takes place over snow and ice across the back roads of northeastern lower Michigan. With single-digit temperatures and roads covered in a thick sheet of ice, you better believe that this is a tough event!

Travis showed his admirable driving skills as he took a commanding early lead over the rest of the Open class, drifting and dodging his way through the roads covered in so much ice that you could practically see your reflection on the apex of some of the turns. While most of us laypeople will never know what it is like to drive at this level, it is certainly a testament to the capabilities and superior performance of the enthusiast favorite Subaru WRX STI. You can reprogram your ECU simply by plugging in the new R.A.T. (RENNtech Auto Tuner). No need to remove the ECU!! Once the reprogramming is complete (about 90 seconds), you can easily switch between stock, for street use, and tuned, for the track, with the flick of a switch.

The R.A.T. is shipped out preprogrammed with RENNtech’s list of firmware and can be sent anywhere in the world. When first plugged into your Mercedes-Benz via the OBD II port, the tuner “marries” itself and uploads the proper file. If the proper file is not already available or you would like to have a custom file made, simply plug the R.A.T. into your computer. The vehicle data is sent to RENNtech and, after being tested, your new file is emailed back to you. If you lose power or the R.A.T. is disconnected while uploading the file, the tuner is designed to automatically recover the stock programming.

625 Wheel HP: This equates to approx 781 flywheel HP @ 7300 RPM
598 Wheel TQ: This equates to approx 697 peak flywheel TQ @ 4500 RPM
In flywheel rated HP gains, this equates to:
(+151 HP)
(+108 TQ)

Bone stock we were able to achieve ¼ mile times of 11.6 @ 126 mph, on street tires.
Next event we plan on some running on drag radials. With another 150+ HP on tap, this Dyno-Comp ZR1 should be good for mid 10 seconds!!!!
