You can reprogram your ECU simply by plugging in the new R.A.T. (RENNtech Auto Tuner). No need to remove the ECU!! Once the reprogramming is complete (about 90 seconds), you can easily switch between stock, for street use, and tuned, for the track, with the flick of a switch.
The R.A.T. is shipped out preprogrammed with RENNtech’s list of firmware and can be sent anywhere in the world. When first plugged into your Mercedes-Benz via the OBD II port, the tuner “marries” itself and uploads the proper file. If the proper file is not already available or you would like to have a custom file made, simply plug the R.A.T. into your computer. The vehicle data is sent to RENNtech and, after being tested, your new file is emailed back to you. If you lose power or the R.A.T. is disconnected while uploading the file, the tuner is designed to automatically recover the stock programming.
